Riley Llamas

Transportation: We have over ten years of experience in moving llamas across the country. We realized long ago that to transport llamas for shows and to other locations an air conditioned trailer was a necessity. We have and maintain two air-conditioned trailers for this purpose. We take great care to provide the best conditions possible while our llamas are on the road. We do a limited amount of hauling for other llama owners.

Training: We take great care to ensure every llama is trained to become a friendly, easy to handle animal. We begin training babies from birth by desensitizing them to human touch. The training continues as the crias are brought in to creep (get extra food) every day for an hour where they learn to interact with humans. As soon as the crias reach 50 pounds we begin teaching them to walk with a halter and lead. The training continues throughout the first two years with many of our llamas being involved with the summer 4-H program.

Goals: Our breeding program is designed to produce show quality animals with nice wool and a friendly personality. We also strive to bring the best South American and domestic bloodlines into our offspring. We have Peruvian, Chilean, and Domestic herdsires that are proven in the showring. We continue to improve our herd by bringing in a few select animals each year.
